The conflict is not religious, its tribal, creed war - genocide based on identity, like Gypsy, Indian or Indigenous.
The Rohingya people historically also termed Arakanese Indians) are a stateless Indo-Aryan people from Rakhine State, Myanmar. There were an estimated 1 million Rohingya living in Myanmar before the 2016–17 crisis. The majority are Muslim while a minority are Hindu. Described by the United Nations in 2013 as one of the most persecuted minorities in the world, the Rohingya population are denied citizenship under the 1982 Burmese citizenship law. According to Human Rights Watch, the law "effectively deny to the Rohingya the possibility of acquiring a nationality. Despite being able to trace Rohingya history to the 8th century, Burmese law does not recognize the ethnic minority as one of the national races". They are also restricted from freedom of movement, state education and civil service jobs. The Rohingyas have faced military crackdowns in 1978, 1991–1992, 2012, 2015 and 2016–2017. UN officials and HRW have described Myanmar's persecution of the Rohingya as ethnic cleansing, while there have been warnings of an unfolding genocide. Yanghee Lee, the UN special investigator on Myanmar, believes the country wants to expel its entire Rohingya population.
A shining example of humanity. I truly wish we could all respect each others beliefs, learn from them & live together. These beautiful people could teach much of the rest of the world a very valuable lesson. Bless the Sikh people & the Muslim refugees. X
Aung San Suu Kyi...a Nobel Prize winner...but has her name become synonymous with betrayal of hope and noble values...the seduction of corrupting power...I wonder?
Burma and Rohyngia minority like every country who are not democracy .The situation is very complicated ,the military clique who have real power are aggressive when they behave with any crisis ,Usa and westerns play there and communism represented in Russia and China plus Isreali support military clique ,don't repeat again Afghanistan case and Usa use islamic groups to defeat communism.Generally i stand with any oppressed minority facing persecution ..
At the end of the day its about being a decent person. No matter what religion, if someone is in need then we should all help someone out.
I wish America have had a border with India that Sikhs could help victims of recent storms of Texas and Florida because of stupidities of US infrastructure.
